We believe authenticity is the foundation of strength, resilience, and healing. To support this, our environments must reflect and nurture that journey. At For Real Therapy, we understand how the spaces we inhabit impact our vitality and well-being.

We’ve evolved not only our approach to therapy through clinical interventions but also through the spaces we create. In collaboration with Ryan Tova Katz, our rooms are designed by our team of healers, blending creativity and functionality. These spaces are therapeutic for both clinicians and clients, offering diverse healing modalities — art therapy, movement, play, or intimate spaces for navigating grief and conflict.

We recognize that mental health is systemic, and mental illness often stems from the failure of these systems to address critical needs. The impact of diaspora on first-generation individuals is especially profound, compounded by increasing isolation and loneliness, which the Surgeon General’s Advisory highlights as key factors in declining mental health.

To combat this, For Real Therapy fosters connection through events and communal spaces designed to bring people together. We aim to break cycles of disconnection, interpersonal violence, and oppression by building a sense of community and belonging.

Our space invites authenticity and creativity, set against the urban backdrop of Chicago. Here, healing is more than a process — it’s an engaging experience of the environment we share.

Lincoln Park

An open expansive event space with 20 ft ceilings and a 30 ft high solarium ceiling spanning the room. Dressed in color, plants and flexible furniture easily interchangeable to a variety of events. There is a large sliding door that leads to a kitchen that can become part of the event space or closed off for privacy. 9 rooms wrap around the left side of the event space each one radiating its own theme and a wide range of types of furniture. There are 2 bathrooms available and access to an elevator.

Wicker Park

Located at the vibrant 6 corners intersection in the heart of Wicker Park. Formally a dance studio, this event space has old world charm with shoes off wooden floors, decorative tile ceiling and built in seating along with interchangeable furniture. This long narrow room is weighted with two large front windows that pour light and the bustling neighborhood below into the room. There is a small kitchenette and entrance desk that can sub in as a bar. 1 bathroom is available. Along with 3 small offices and one large one that can add to the size and space. Located on the 2nd floor with two entrances both only have stair access.
